Emerald Necklace

Took advantage of some amazing fall weather today to walk in the Emerald Necklace.  Rode the T to Fenway station.  Didn’t realize they are doing a bunch of construction on that first section, so would have been better off taking the T to Longwood station.  The Emerald Necklace was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted over 100 years ago.  It stretches from Back Bay to Dorchester.  The sections we walked today were the Riverway, Olmsted Park and Jamaica Pond.  It is great to have such a peaceful and beautiful string of parks right in the heart of Boston.

After walking we wanted to get some lunch, so we walked a couple blocks over to Beacon Street and got Thai food from Giggling Rice Thai to Go.  They have a few tables inside, so even though it is mainly a to go place, you can eat there.  The food was really good.  It was fresh, the portion size was perfect, the price was reasonable and service was fast.
