Visited the Gartenschau Kaiserslautern today with our wonderful neighbors. We paid for a family ticket because with 2 moms and 3 kids that was cheaper than paying individually. Prices are here. You can park in one of their lots for 2 Euro all day.
They are having the pumpkin festival there right now and the pumpkin sculptures were really fun. There is an under the sea theme this year, so all the sculptures were along those lines.
The park also had some displays on farm life in the past, which Sam and Gracyn thought were fun. I’m thinking if I bought an old manual washing machine and wringer and an iron that you heat in the fire that Sam might actually help with the laundry, well for a few minutes anyway.
There was also a very large playground, including a water play area that kept the kids amused for quite a long time. They also enjoyed a round of mini-golf and decided they wanted to come back with their scooters to try out the skate park. Not sure the moms liked that idea too much.
They also have some beautiful gardens and a dinosaur walk.
We ran out of time, but there was much more to explore. There is a barefoot path and several other gardens that we will have to explore next time around. They offer a season family pass for 45 Euro which we will seriously consider for next year, since it is so close and the kids had a great time.
